Description
Product SKU TSS-USBC-H-B-v3.1 and TSS-USBC-H-C-v3.1
Precision Orientation, Ready at the USB Port
The 3-Space™ USBC v3.1 is a miniature, high-reliability 10-DOF Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) / Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Vertical Reference Unit (VRU) that delivers fully fused orientation straight from a USB-C connection, with no host-side fusion code required. Choose the Board-Only USBC-B at 4.0 grams for integration into your own enclosure, or the Cased USBC-C at 10.0 grams for a rugged, ready-to-mount unit.
10 DOF, Fused On Board
A triaxial gyroscope, auto-selecting dual accelerometers, triaxial magnetometer, and barometric pressure sensor work together with patented on-board processing and quaternion-based orientation filtering. The dual accelerometers switch automatically between a high-resolution low range (±2g to ±16g) and a high range up to ±320g, so the sensor stays accurate through both fine motion and hard impact. Rated for 5000g shock survivability and operation from -40°C to 85°C.
QGRAD3™ Sensor Fusion at up to 2000Hz
Yost Labs’ proprietary QGRAD3™ filter delivers ±1° orientation accuracy in dynamic conditions across all orientations, with 0.085° repeatability, at lower latency and computational overhead than a conventional Extended Kalman Filter. Kalman AHRS and raw IMU modes are also available, each at up to 2000Hz. Gradient descent calibration and a dynamic sensor confidence algorithm maintain accuracy across changing operating conditions.
GPS-Denied Pedestrian Tracking, Built In
The embedded EEPTS pedestrian tracking system extracts real-time motion paths from body-worn or hand-carried equipment with no GPS or external infrastructure required, outputting latitude and longitude offsets directly from the sensor.
Connect Your Way
USB 2.0 over USB-C (virtual COM port), SPI up to 10 MHz, I2C up to 4 MHz, UART, and RS232, with serial baud rates selectable from 4,800 to 4,000,000. A well-documented open protocol accepts commands in human-readable form or faster machine-readable binary. Python and C APIs are available, and the free 3-Space™ Sensor Suite lets you evaluate the sensor within minutes of unboxing.
